英文缩写小常识
英文缩写（英语叫做：abbreviation，可能被省略作为“abbr.”或“abbrev.”），在语言学里严格地说是一种词语的简易格式，又称缩略语或简称。但实际上，它是从词中提取关键字来简要地代表原来的意思。在网络发达之后，英文的缩写也渐渐变得更灵活，而且与时俱进。
字母文字最常见的一种缩写方式是把词语缩短，除了把词语缩短的共同形式外，还有其它类型的简称。它包括了首字母缩略字、截音法、省略、中略语、音素简称和熔合法。音素简称的例子有：把“International police”变成“Interpol”、“Legislative Council”变成“Legco”等。
