The reason she still could come to interview is the job which does not need a Master degree. So why did the interviewer know about this girl's initial study plan for Master degree at the first place? Is it on the resume the girl submitted or she mentioned in the interview conversation? If the girl talked about the change in the study plan, then it is valid for the interviewer to follow up. However, the interviewer must not be judgemental.
