This is my first school strike as a parent. Unfortunately I don\'t foresee this as the last one either. When I was a student I would whole heartedly support the teachers as they are underpaid and overworked bunch, and also the break from school doesn\'t hurt either. But as a parent and a tax payer I support the government not to bow down to the tactics of these renegade union bosses.   This has been a very hot topic on your radio station each morning/evening. The comments from teachers and union bosses just blow my mind away as they sound so utterly stupid and ignorant people....   \'teachers are our future\' \'limited job action had not impacted any of the students\' \'there is a thousand issues that bctf has with this government\' \'we have support from the parents\' \'government is making this a political issue\'   It is cleared they don’t think before they talk. I thought children are our future. Limited job actions have no impact on students?!? Very delusional bunch I say. Grade 11 and Grade 12 students are greatly affected by this because they receive no letter grades to apply to Colleges/Universities. Also what do they expect parents to say or do when the media and/or teacher questions their actions... of course they will support the teachers because if they don\'t it can become retribution on their kids. It is like those 13% of teachers that voted in-favour of a no strike but won\'t come out and say it to the union bosses of fear being backlash. Political?!? Who encouraged the public to axe the HST! If anything they should have supported the tax, they clearly don\'t comprehend or understand this very simple logic.   The only deal breaker I see is the zero percent mandate though the teachers will flatly deny that. They would have the public believe that they are fighting for the students, education, etc. If they can accept the zero  increase and fight for everything else, they will have my respect and support. The other public sectors are just smiling ear to ear as the BCTF is essentially fighting for all public union members as well. The teachers are  their \'ace\' in the hole.   Here\'s a reality check. There are no shortage of teachers in BC. If they do not like what is on the table for them now, get out of the profession! There are plenty of able and willing student-teachers waiting in the wings.   Teacher$ for Kid$
