Job Title: Roofer (NOC 73110 – TEER 3)

Job Type: Full-time

Wages: $30 per hour, 40 hours per week

Helios Roofing and Waterproofing Ltd. is a full-service roofing contractor operating in lower mainland since 2012. We offer a full range (new roof and roof repair) of roof installation, re-roofing, metal flashing, waterproofing, damp proofing and repairing services. We work on commercial, industrial and residential properties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, repair and replace roofs on residential and commercial buildings.
• Cover roofs and exterior walls with asphalt, slate, aluminum, wood, gravel, gypsum and other materials using hammers, brushes, knives and other suitable tools.
• Install, repair and replace single-ply roofing systems using various waterproof sheet materials.
• Apply plastic coatings and membranes, fiberglass, or felt over sloped roofs before applying shingles.
• Install, repair and replace shingles, shakes and other roofing tiles on sloped roofs.
• Inspect problem roofs to determine best repair procedures.
• Set up and erect scaffolding to provide easy and safe access to roofs and dismantle scaffolding when finished.
• Remove snow, water, or debris from roofs prior to applying roofing materials. Smooth rough spots to prepare surfaces for waterproofing, using hammers, chisels, or rubbing bricks.
• Spray roofs, sidings, and walls with material to bind, seal, insulate, or soundproof sections of structure.
• Job site clean-up, and clean and maintain all equipment
• Follow established safety rules and procedures

Required skills and Qualities:

• Ability to lift up to 100lbs
• Team player who is dependable and reliable
• Ability to abide by all safety policies and procedures
• Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced, and sage environment on both the roof and ground
• Prior roofing experience considered an asset

Work Experience:

• 2 - 3 years relative working experience

Education:

• Completion of secondary school is usually required. 

Work Language:

• Proficiency in English comprehension and expression
