Job Summary

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Hands-on full cycle accounting and general ledger responsibilities (including journal entries, bank reconciliations, tax and WCB remittances, foreign transactions, month end accounting report preparation)
• Review and verify invoices and cheque requests
• Review and process expense reports
• Sort, code and match invoices
• Set invoices up for payment
• Enter invoices into system
• Prepare and perform cheque runs
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions
• Prepare analysis of accounts
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Maintain vendor files
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
• Provide supporting documentation for audits

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Education and Experience

• 3 years of working experience as an accountant
• Good knowledge of accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage50 & SAP
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and organization in preparing and entering financial information
• Excellent computer skills including a strong understanding of all MS Office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Preference given to individuals with industry experience.
• Fluent in Mandarin is an asset.
• Knowledge of accounts payable
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures
• Knowledge of relevant accounting software
• Proficient in data entry and management
