JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

On behalf of our client, Mak & Fong, we are looking for a Junior Accountant to join their growing team.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our growing public practice serving local businesses and professionals. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a strong foundation in accounting, assurance, and tax. You will work closely with senior team members, gain hands-on experience in client engagements, and develop technical and professional skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing working papers for audit, review, and compilation engagements
• Prepare corporate, personal, and trust tax returns
• Support clients with bookkeeping and financial reporting
• Perform bank reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and related schedules
• Assist in ensuring compliance with ASPE, IFRS, ASNFPO, and tax regulations
• Communicate with clients regarding information requests and follow-ups
• Collaborate with and learn from senior accountants and managers

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in or recent graduate of an accounting program (CPA students welcome)
• 1–2 years of experience in public practice preferred (new graduates will be considered)
• Familiar with QuickBooks Online, CaseWare, Excel, and Word
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) an asset
• Eager to learn, adaptable, and committed to professional growth

The Offer:

• Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000/year
