As a new immigrant, I did have some dreams of my career paths. Even though I had a labor job with not bad pay (24$/hour +tips) , I thought I should find a better job. So I quit the job and tried to take a program at college. After searching some information, I decided to take a two-year program at BCIT. I had worked on it for about 8 months, and I met all the entre requirements eventually. Therefore, I got the interview. Even though I felt pretty good about the interview, they still refused my application. I wrote an email to the director to aske why they refused me. She said because the program was a super competitive one. More than 60 candidates qualified, and they only offer 16 seats each year. I was so frustrated about this and tried to find another job. I had sent more than 100 resumes during the last couple of months. I got few interviews, then I realized it never be easy to find a job here. Fortunately, my 2018 has a great start, and I got a job working for the government. It's a custmer service job, but they paid 20$ when I got the training. I think I will stick on this job and try to building my career in this employer.
