About IETW – Integrated Employment Training for Women

The Integrated Employment Training for Women project, which is funded by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), provides foundational and transferable as well as sector-specific essential job skills training to racialized women across Canada through remote trainings. The program is a 12-week intensive English language and employment-focused course that prepares participants for employment as Health Care Assistants by helping them develop the literacy and essential skills needed to successfully participate in the workplace, and to seek and retain employment through partnering with employers in providing placement or practicum opportunities.

• Understanding and clarifying Instructions
• Assessment and report writing
• Language for safety at work
• Employment services/job search assistance/topic-focused workshops
• 20 hours of Volunteer practicum placement
• Individualized training and career planning
• Financial support—transportation support, child care support, paid short-term certificates training (WHMIS, First Aid and Food Safe), income support and counselling
