We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill a key position within our team as an Estimator. This is an individual who is self-driven, motivated, experienced and professional to manage both people and the challenges from diverse construction portfolios.

You will play a key role in developing estimates and professional proposals for our existing and prospective customers. The estimator will work closely with members of the estimating & drafting team and other internal business units as well as a variety of general contractors and sub-contractors, to ensure unique project requirements are met, and that a quality bid is prepared and put forward for each project.

Estimating position responsibilities include, preparing quotes for total building envelope solutions (Roofing, Waterproofing, Dampproofing, Exterior wall applications) using our internal quote program. Additionally, liaising with 3rd party suppliers for outsourced services or products, when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and/or assists in completing budgetary and final estimating of scopes of work
• Develop and/or assists in the preparation of estimate packages
• Use knowledge to focus work and drive short and long-term solutions
• Review requests for quotations and customer supplied drawings to determine the quantity of material, labour, and other factors that may impact the overall costs of a project
• Responsible for detailed cost estimates and qualification development for bid proposals
• Perform detailed structural and miscellaneous take offs
• Establish pricing for structural and/or miscellaneous scopes of work
• Deal with general contractor, subcontractors and customer - must be able to maintain relationships with customer
• Contract supplier for material price and lead time
• Assist other department as required
• Other projects as assigned

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• 2-3 years experience in construction project estimation an asset
• Estimating program graduates would be an asset
• Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Able to perform site visits when required
• Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
• Adapts easily to a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional ability to maintain schedules and meet established deadlines.
• Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new programs and software.
