I live in the North and I use my scooter to get to work nearly every day. Rain and snow are no problem as long as the roads have been plowed. A bit slippery on ice and thick snow, so I keep it in ESAVER mode to slow it down so I can easily step off and carry the scooter through a rough patch if needed.
After 9 months of hard use nearly every day (10km uphill in all weather) this scooter still runs great. The steering is slightly loose and the battery is showing some age: it only hits 32km/h now on a full charge, slowing to a max of 28km/h as the battery drains down. Considering that I ride fairly hard on the scooter, I am happy with the way it is holding up. Thankfully the batteries are easy to replace with a stock 48v battery if you are handy enough to take that on yourself. For those concerned about a slight speed drop over time could look at the KQi3 MAX which has a higher speed and distance in exchange for a heavier scooter. I would have purchased the MAX if I had known about it when I bought the Pro.
Easy to assemble, great speed, power, and quality build. Folds down easily and is small to store, considering the power and range of the vehicle. It needs a good quality lock; it weighs 50lbs and can be carried up a flight of stairs without much trouble, but is a bit much to carry with you every time you stop.
The app is terrible but I didn't buy it for that. Tried riding around in ESAVER mode to unlock it but realized I had to connect the app first, otherwise travel does not count towards the total needed to unlock the speed. The app is glitchy, but most reviewers seem to figure it out on their own after some fiddling with it. The good news is that app updates are easy to roll out in the future to solve this issue.
Even with the horrible app and the fact that this product actually locks you out of some of the features until you use it, I still give it 5 stars. The scooter itself is incredibly well made and it flies up to 32km/h quite quickly.
I wish it could be waterproof (instead of "water resistant" IP54), and I will add to the pile of complaints about the poorly-implemented app that is required to unlock speeds above 15km/h. I would also love to see a NIU scooter with suspension in the future. The Apollo City 2022 model looks like a great option for people wanting suspension, a bit more power, and an IP66 waterproof rating.
This scooter is WICKED!
We bought (split purchase between my daughter and us) this scooter for my daughter. She’s 13 years old and I wanted something she could use into the future. I didn’t want her to waste her money on a cheaper, less powerful computer that she’ll outgrow and I can’t use. I’m 6’1, 220lbs and it hauls me around at 30km/hr with no issue. The battery is long lasting and it has plenty of power. I have used a “kids” scooter ($400 ish) before and a rental scooter before and this scooter beats them both by a mile.

She's powerful and she'll speed up quickly. It is a little heavy and awkward to get out the box, however she's sturdy and quick to assemble.
I've hit some curbs and pot holes pretty hard and the wheels hold up well. Rubber is good and grippy.
Roads, pavement or Flat grass off-road just fine. Not recommended on loose gravel roads
I weigh 160 and can get approx 35km range traveling around max and pushing it hard.
Consider wind and road road conditions before heading out on long journeys. I live just outside the city and make it in to the city center and back on one charge (although Saskatoon is tiny )
There is some issues with the App but the scooter itself has only minor tweaks needed.
The breaks seem pretty high in relation to your thumb. Wider handle bars would be awesome so that gps mounts can be added. More colour would be nice as it's mainly black witb the smallest of gold area on my pro. Plastic cover for the charge port needs a better hinge as mine broke quickly.
Please remember that 32kmh this low go the ground can result in serious injury if you don't have any protection. Even just jeans and a sweater and gloves. Don't drive that fast with just shorts and t-shirt. And please wear shoes.

The scooter looks to be well built. Unfortunately, I can’t use it as the app keeps crashing when I try to register (you’d think there’d be an alternate web registration as a backup, but no, the app is down and the scooter is unusable.). Their customer service only works Mon-Fri, so I’ll update once I hopefully get it working. Terrible user experience so far.

Niu Scooter is defiantly heavier than alternative brands, but it comes with a fully loaded. Front suspension is actual with shock absorbers, not cheap springs.
Disk brakes, the motors get cut off from power before applying brakes, and the electric regeneration begins.
It is pretty easy to maneuver it and lock it from the app. However, going uphill is tough if you are a heavy rider. My husband(200lbs) tried to do so, and the scooter was limiting at 9-11 miles per hour, so you need to kick assist it going up.
Overall we enjoy it. The craftsmanship is excellent, and now it has 80 miles on it, and there are no flaws.

Bin wirklich sehr zufrieden.

Well, I finally removed the back tire by cutting it off with a Fein multi tool and a reciprocating saw. Please if you have any common sense. Do not purchase electric scooters. They’re to hard to fix and there are no shops to repair them. I think I’m going to cut my loses and sell the scooter. What a waste of hard earned cash.
I've been writing this review in segments as I was trying to replace the bad tire with a new one.
I purchased a new tire from Niu and finally after a real fight I was able to mount the new tire onto the rear motor hub. Well when i finally starting inflating it with my electric air pump, air started leaking from the side walls between the hub and the tire. Come on !! Is this really something people want to contend with ? So what did I do after that. I put the scooter in my car trunk and gave it to away to someone who likes to tinker with these things.
He told me these scooters require to much maintainace along with money to have them fixed.
Think before u do business directly with a Chinese owned company.
