A small local Freight Forwarding firm is looking for a Junior Cargo Agent / Customer Service Representative.
Duties and Responsibilities may include:
- Preparing and completing import and export documents such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Handling Air, Ocean and Trucking shipments
- Advising clients of their current shipment status
- Responding to clients inquiries on a timely and courteous manner either by email or telephone.
- Continually working to improve client relationship
- setting up bookings and follow through with trucking shipments
- monitoring and updating clients with progress of all shipments
- liaising with truckers as well as overseas agents
- preparing quotes with help and approval from manager(s)
- assisting with the preparation of accounts;
- preparing filings with different government agencies
- other reasonable assignments as required by the work of the Company and as directed by the manager(s) of the Company from time to time.
- Negotiating trucking rates with truckers
- Other office administrative duties (as required)
Required Skills, Experience and Attributes:
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Cantonese or Mandarin communication skills is an asset.
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent administrative and logic skills
- Excellent phone and email manners
- Previous Import/Export experience with air/sea cargo is a plus
- Must be able to work independently, with little supervision
- Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to multi-task
- Good Problem-Solving skills
- Able to work well under pressure with minimal supervision
